TIE YOUR OWN: FLOATING FRY
Hook: B 830 L/S8
Thread: Black
Rib: Wide Pearl Strip
Body: Fluo White Chenille
Throat Hackle: Dyed Scarlet (Red) cock hackle fibres
Back: Pearl Fry Foam.
Place B 830 L/S8 hook in the vice, catch the tying thread onto the hook at the eye and wind down to the bend to a point just above the barb of the hook.
Tie in the ribbing Pearl strip and a piece of fluo White chenille, take the tying thread back down the shank to just behind the eye, now add just a little wet varnish to the hook shank and wind the chenille down to just behind the eye and catch in with the thread, now bring the ribbing down through the chenille to the eye and catch in with the tying thread, do not cut off. Now you tie in a throat hackle, that is a small bunch of the Red cock hackle fibres, but under the throat of the hook and now tie in the foam back, tying in the pointed end securely and now you can whip finish and tie off.
NOW you attach the tying thread at the tail end of the hook, just behind where you tied in the chenille making sure you tie in the thread securely. Gently pull down the piece of Pearl Fry Foam and tie in at the tail end of the hook and carefully whip finish. Then to complete the Floating fry varnish the head and apply varnish to the thread at the bend.
